Case · Stefwerkt

From four weeks ahead to booked up into 2027.

Stef is a painter in Groningen. In February 2026 he had no website. Most of his work came through other painters and his diary was filled less than four weeks ahead. I spent an evening at his kitchen table, we built the site together, and on 17 February 2026 it went live.

Where it stands now

Ten to fifteen requests a month.

On 1 September 2026 Stef is booked up into 2027. Ten to fifteen quote requests come in every month through the site and through WhatsApp. And it is still getting busier.

What changed

From subcontractor to his own clients.

Stef used to do most of his painting and carpentry as a subcontractor for other painters. That kind of work only arrives when it happens to come along, and the margin gets shaved off along the way. Now it is nearly all his own clients, and he has people who join him on the jobs.

The first requests came in soon after launch. One thing had to go along the way: we started with the promise that you could get started within four weeks. After a few months that was no longer true. It now says a job is planned in together, which is fairer towards the client.

What is there

A site that shows his whole trade.

Fifteen pages in Dutch, plus an English version. No advertising, everything comes in organically and through his Google Business Profile.

Five service pages
Interior painting, exterior painting, decorative painting, wood rot repair and carpentry. Each with its own page, so Stef is found separately for each of those searches.
Projects that keep growing
Stef sends me photos of his jobs and I add them to the site as they come in. He puts the same photos on his Google Business Profile.
Two ways to get in touch
A quote form for people who want to write it out calmly, and a WhatsApp button with a pre-filled message per service for people who would rather send a quick message.
Dutch and English
The whole site exists in English as well, for the international tenants and homeowners in the city of Groningen.
Blogs from his own story
What a painter costs, how a job runs, how to spot wood rot. I write them based on the interview I did with Stef, so it is his language and his way of working.
Built for local search
Everything aimed at Groningen and the surrounding area, tied to his Google Business Profile. No advertising, it all comes in organically.
